471 Recently, Shenzhen Kexing Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. ("Shenzhen Kexing"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kexing Biopharm, successfully completed the first participant enrollment and dosing in the Phase I clinical study of GB19 Injection, an innovative drug independently developed to target BDCA2 (Blood Dendritic Cell Antigen 2).
GB19 Injection is designed to target BDCA2, a cell surface receptor specifically expressed on plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs). Its mechanism of action differs significantly from currently available therapies that primarily target B-cell pathways.
By specifically binding to BDCA2, GB19 inhibits the production of Type I interferons by pDCs, thereby interrupting the abnormal activation cycle between innate and adaptive immune responses. This mechanism has the potential to address key pathogenic pathways involved in autoimmune diseases driven by interferon dysregulation.GB19 may provide a novel treatment option for patients with autoimmune diseases associated with interferon pathway abnormalities, including Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus (CLE) and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
The advancement of the GB19 clinical program marks another significant step in Kexing Biopharm’s continued commitment to autoimmune disease research and development and its global innovation strategy.
Kexing Biopharm is building an innovative lupus treatment portfolio centered on the combination of GB26, a potential first-in-class (FIC) trispecific antibody, and GB19, a differentiated monoclonal antibody. Through a dual-pathway approach integrating immune reset and immune modulation, the company aims to overcome the limitations of single-mechanism therapies and move toward comprehensive disease management across the entire lupus treatment journey.
Looking ahead, Kexing Biopharm will continue to focus on key therapeutic areas such as oncology and autoimmune diseases, accelerate the global development of innovative medicines, and bring more high-quality treatment options to patients worldwide.
