Kexing Biopharm's oncology product for international markets, Paclitaxel for Injection (Albumin-Bound) (Apexelsin®), has recently received marketing approval from the Institute of Public Health of Chile (ISP Chile). This approval marks a further expansion of the product’s presence in the Latin American market, following its successful registrations in countries including Peru, Uruguay, and Argentina.

According to data released by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in 2022, Chile recorded approximately 60,000 new cancer cases and around 31,000 cancer-related deaths that year. Prostate cancer and breast cancer ranked as the most commonly diagnosed cancers among men and women, respectively. Albumin-bound paclitaxel is recommended by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) guidelines as a first-line treatment option for multiple solid tumors, including breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and metastatic pancreatic cancer. The approval of Apexelsin® will provide cancer patients in Chile with an additional therapeutic option.

Since receiving marketing authorization from the European Commission in 2024, Apexelsin® has received marketing authorization in an increasing number of countries. Leveraging the benchmark effect of EU high-standard regulatory approval, together with Kexing Biopharm’s deep understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory systems across different countries through its overseas commercialization platform, the product has achieved efficient market penetration in emerging regions.

To date, Apexelsin® has been approved in approximately 30 countries and regions worldwide, including the European Union, the United Kingdom, Peru, Oman, Uruguay, Georgia, Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, Macao SAR of China, Malaysia, and the Dominican Republic, among others.

Looking ahead, with the continued advancement of Kexing Biopharm’s global commercialization platform, the market reach of its partnered high-quality medicines is expected to expand further, bringing innovative treatment options to more patients around the world.
